    SUMMARY
    Collaborates with an assigned school counselor to implement the TUSD School Counseling Program.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Bachelor’s degree

    Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program that, when completed, meets the requirements for Arizona Department of Education Certification as a school guidance counselor.

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
    Experience with diverse student populations

    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with parents, students, teachers and staff

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
    Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

    Valid AZ Driver's License required within 10 days of hire. Must not have accrued eight points against driver’s license within the past two years.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

    Maintain thorough knowledge of TUSD policies and legal and ethical counseling standards.

    Incorporates current graduate program college courses in daily work at school sites.

    Consults with assigned TUSD Certified School Counselor, Director of Guidance & Counseling and graduate program professors to identify at-risk students and to provide appropriate assistance.

    Maintain thorough knowledge of TUSD policies and legal and ethical counseling standards.

    Co-teaches preventative guidance lessons with school counselor regarding goal setting, communication skills, career awareness, and future educational opportunities.

    Reviews attendance records to identify students who have excessive absences and compiles attendance reports in regards to those students.

    Counsel at-risk students regarding school and attendance.

    Collaborates, plans and conducts parent awareness workshops in such areas as goal setting, career awareness, educational achievement, and post high school educational goals.

    Identifies and provides linkages to community resources that support needs of students and their families.

    Attends district sponsored professional development workshops and other appropriate workshops.

    $ 19.71 per hour
    .5 FTE - 4 hours per day
    9.5 month position


    Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
