ABOUT OUR SERVICES
For adults with serious mental illness, recovery and success in life depends on good mental and physical health, as well as having satisfying relationships, safe housing, purpose in life, a sense of belonging, and hope for the future. We help people define their personal goals for recovery and manage their symptoms and substance use so they can achieve those goals. With our integrated health services, care and support, they discover strengths they didn’t know they had and are able to build futures filled with hope, meaning, and wellness.
Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders impact one another and must be treated together … at the same time, in the same place, by the same treatment team. If you have a thorough knowledge of best practices in substance abuse treatment, including skills and experience in motivational interviewing, and a complete understanding of medication-assisted treatment approaches and integrated dual diagnosis treatment modalities, then consider joining our integrated treatment team to help our seriously mentally ill patients. They truly need your help.
You will function as the substance abuse clinician on the team, serving as the expert in substance abuse/use for the clinical staff at one of our outpatient clinics. You will provide strengths-based, solution-focused counseling interventions for adults receiving behavioral health services, as well as family and group interventions. You will conduct ongoing assessments of their stages of change in regards to substance use and provide treatment according to assessment of need. You’ll also provide consultation and assistance to the treatment team in the area of substance abuse and its effects and assist the team in identifying and addressing co-occurring issues and appropriate interventions. Along with the treatment team, your integrated approach will help our patients develop a role for themselves outside of their mental illness, while also helping them improve their quality of life through increased employment, meaningful community activity, independent living status, and social network, as well as decreased substance use/abuse.
