Responsible for the quality and responsiveness of clinical service delivery at the PIR Campus site. Under the leadership of the Vice President of Clinical Services, develops and oversees clinical staff and activities that reflect best clinical practice, recovery culture and ensures that program services are provided in accordance with PIR policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws, regulation and licensure/accreditation standards. Creates a climate that promotes friendliness, support and quality treatment for each service recipient. In collaboration with the Site Administrator, manages and supervises all clinical and case management staff including professional development and personnel issues.
The director is expected to have a vision of effective delivery of interventions and services geared toward improving patient care, patient and staff education, and utilization of resources. The director promotes a professional practice environment and cultivates collegial and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across the company. These activities are aimed at supporting the organization in maintaining or improving its clinical operation and its patient care outcomes. The director must possess the ability to function efficiently in group settings providing clinical administrative leadership to clinical staff and collaborating with various levels of leadership and disciplines.
The director must understand, affirm, support and impart the organizational goal of recovery.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Consistently communicates the Partners In Recovery vision and mission to staff and behavioral health recipients. Facilitates the integration of a recovery philosophy and the Principles for Persons with a serious mental illness into everyday clinical practice and clinic operations. Success will be measured through the key outcomes valued by the organization: (1) jobs and employment, (2) education and schooling, (3) health and wellness, and (4) achieving a home of one’s choice.
Responsible for overall clinical leadership and the clinical care provided by the campus in close collaboration with the Chief Psychiatrist and Lead Nurse with emphasis on coordination between clinical disciplines, coordination of clinical activities of the program, implementation and adherence to PIR policies, procedures, clinical guidelines, etc.
Delivers and manages the clinical supervision of all non-medical clinical staff.. Serves as mentor, coach and educator for clinical staff, particularly in the area of assessment and treatment planning, ensuring adherence to PIR philosophy, goals and best practices. Ensures case management staff practice Strengths Based and Rehabilitation Case Management principles and incorporate those principles into their day to day work with service recipients.
Works with the Site Administrator to develop and oversee educational/learning opportunities and professional development plans for all clinical staff by encouraging employees to attend in-services, seminars and workshops within budgeted parameters; coordinates departmental in-service training program with the Partners In Recovery Training and Development Department, provides direct mentoring and monitors staff participation in continuing education programs.
Uses qualitative and quantitative outcomes and analyzes data to identify performance gaps, initiate training, mentoring or performance improvement activities to assist individual clinicians and/or clinical teams to deliver quality behavioral health care. Data is utilized in real time to improve the types, quality and delivery of clinical provided to the service recipients.
Provides clinical direction and leadership in the recruitment, promotion, demotion and termination of all clinical staff.
Maintain 24 hours/day, 7 days/week availability for clinical needs; appoints a designee in the event of non-availability.
