FST Technical Services LLC is seeking an Energy Engineer/Field Engineer for its Chandler, AZ office.

Job Duties: Conduct comprehensive ASHRAE I & II level energy audits to identify areas of inefficiency and recommend energy-saving measures. Perform facility utility analysis and energy benchmarking. Conduct project fieldwork, energy savings analysis, and report production. Deliver high quality reports and audit calculations. Review calculations and assumptions used to estimate or measure savings due to energy efficiency projects. Report project schedules and progress and provide regular time charging/budget updates as requested. Provide weekly task lists to engineering manager for inclusion in weekly work plan. Support the engineering manager in the training and mentoring of team members on proper documentation development, field procedures and equipment usage. Conduct on-site meetings and providing answers to technical and program-related questions. Maintain relations with existing clients on assigned projects. Stay informed about energy issues and industry trends through regular technical reading and participation in local and national professional organizations. Telecommuting permitted. Requires travel up to 50% within the U.S. and Canada.



Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field. Also requires two years of experience in the following:

 

  • Working with mechanical equipment and systems including steam and hot water boilers, high-efficiency furnaces, and domestic hot water system.
  • Modeling software such as Facility Grid, Prolog, AutoDesk, NEAT/MHEA, or REM/Rate.

  • Energy modeling programs such as Portfolio Manager, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, Loadsoft, Degree-day modeling analysis, Hancock Energy, or Snugg Pro.
  • Assessing and advising on compliance with state codes and standards for energy audits

  • Advising clients on compliance with mechanical or electrical codes and standards.
  • Energy analysis and energy calculation, including conducting performance analysis and simulations, building energy analysis, and assessment of a building’s energy consumption.
  • HVAC and/or electrical systems, including HVAC System Installation and Maintenance, assessments of refrigerant properties and safe handling procedures, safety protocols, code compliance, and system diagnostics.
  • Assessing and advising on energy-efficient practices and green technologies for HVAC and/or electrical systems.
