The Education Manager (K-12) provides direct supervision for 14 staff; including completion of quarterly ?le
reviews for each K-12 Advisor, compiling quarterly reports for each advisor, completing quarterly reports,
completing monthly reports for director, and planning annual events. Requires program management and
program development of new and existing programs and events. Incumbent must be knowledgeable of local
schools, assessment techniques and program evaluations, including staff development and training. Incumbent
is required to have knowledge of current Federal regulations directly affecting funding and school policy changes
at the local, Tribal, State and Federal level. This program includes in depth collaboration with outside
establishments, including local high schools, universities and community colleges for events, grant writing, and
trainings and the ability to create and maintain relationships.

0 Provide supervision to fourteen (14) staff, this includes weekly and monthly follow-ups, ensure compliance
with job duties and concerns or issues that arise through site visits, phone calls and emails. Implement
programs, activities, and strategies for K-12 Student Advisors, establish goals and objectives, provide training,
and monitor progress of the K-12 Student Advisor Program, adjust plans of action by identifying
responsibilities, timelines, documentation and expected outcomes. Ensure resources are available and
adequate to support staff, daily programs, goals and objectives. Conduct regular observations of staff
performance and provide feedback, conduct formal staff performance reviews and recommend staff
0 Review record processes of all staff to ensure compliance with Tribal, Federal and State regulations. Review
quarterly reports for submission to the Education Standing Committee and Community Council, complete ?le
reviews to ensure contacts with students and compliance are met and documented, meet with administration
of local schools to ensure K-12 Student Advisors are conducting meetings with them and documenting
contacts. Complete grant and funding reports, formulate charts and data as needed for reporting purposes.
0 Assess the need for staff training and technical assistance through program evaluations, conduct and/or
coordinate training in counseling for the K-12 Advisor staff, tutors and other counselors in schools where
GRIC students are enrolled, identify learning and implementation of new and existing programs. Keep abreastof new policies related to statutes that affect GRIC student population, inform Tribal Education staff of
education policy changes that affect GRIC students and K-12 Student Advisors.Develop rapport with Native American counselors at local and off-reservation schools where GRIC students
are enrolled and visit the schools annually to recruit students to higher education informing them of
opportunities available to GRIC members. Collaborate with Bureau of Indian Affairs and Off Reservation
Boarding schools to ensure our GRIC student population needs are being met. Participate in community,
local, state, regional and national meetings and conferences to keep abreast of education initiatives, trends,
research and networking, work with federal, state and other funding programs, grants and contracts, work
with parents and community members on issues and concerns with their students/schools, collaborate with
Tribal Education Department community events by preparing students submissions or review and scoring,
identifying panels, coordinating with departments within the community, outside the community and local
resources.Maintain programmatic records and other appropriate documentation necessary to prepare and submit reports
in accordance to program requirements.Performs other related duties as required.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:Considerable knowledge of the daily activities of GRIC K-12 Student Advisors.Considerable knowledge of training techniques and ability to put these into practice with employees and
community.Considerable knowledge of the economic, educational and social needs of Native American children and
families and of resources available to meet those needs.Ability to understand and eXplain Special Education processes to GRIC K-12 Student Advisors.Ability to understand case ?le/management and evaluate case files.Ability to perform assigned duties within a reasonable time period and with little supervision.Ability to supervise/counsel effectively and prepare required records and reports.Considerable knowledge of modern educational theory and practice with the ability to assess and address
various learning strategies.Considerable knowledge of effective supervisory and team building techniques and the ability to put those
into practice.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to practice patience, compassion and empathy.Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate good judgment.Ability to express ideas clearly orally and in writing.Ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with other employees,
Community Of?cials and the general public.Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position, agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education Administration, Education, or closely
related field and ?ve (5) years’ experience in teaching, student advising, student data tracking and/or collection
in an education or education administration environment and which includes two (2) years’ supervisory

Required to pass a background check and f1ngerprint clearance as a condition of employment and must
continue to maintain throughout duration of employment. Background checks are required for positions that
involve regular contact with or control over Community Children in accordance with The Indian Child
Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, 25 US. C. Sections 3201 through 3210 and C.F.R. Part 63
and positions that have regular contact with the Elderly.

0 Required to obtain a Tribal Driving permit. Valid state driver’s license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving
record must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of
