Tribal Driving Permit Required: YesDISTINGUSIHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:The Agriculture Business Manager is responsible for managing the Gila River Indian Irrigation & Drainage
District Agriculture Development Program (ADP) and the USDA/Environmental Quality Incentive Program
(EQIP) as well as ?eld improvement construction to ensure that the landowners and growers receive adequate
assistance in the development of farmed lands. This position is responsible for communicating with various
governmental agencies related to the development of agricultural lands and overseeing all land developmentrelated to agricultural development. The Agricultural Business Manager reports to the General Manager of

Provide technical services in the administration of USDA/EQIP contracts under which the ADP is completed.
Prepares bid solicitation documents and awarding bids for the ADP construction, and managing the ADP
construction contracts and GRIIDD construction equipment.Prepares and submits invoices to the Natural Resources Conservation Service for reimbursement of the cost
share portion of the land leveling, ditch, construction, irrigation port installation, ditch check installation, and
pipes for road crossing that is completed under the General Contractors contracted with GRIIIDD.Provide technical services for preparation of the Annual and 5-year budget associated with ADP and EQIP
contract under the ADP.Provide construction management in agricultural development, ?eld leveling and on-farm ditch construction.
Prepares construction schedules, written progress reports and maintaining budgets and cuff accounts for each
?scal year budget.Responsible for meeting with and ensuring landowners and growers receive adequate assistance in the
development of their farmed lands, forecasting, scheduling, and monitoring water delivery to growers.
Supervise staff assigned to the ADP and provide training for staff in farm equipment operation, tillage of land,
and maintenance of equipment needed.Assist landowners and growers in the promotion and marketing of their agriculture production (grains, hay,
vegetables, and livestock).Responsible for working with Tribal, State, and Federal on-the-j ob training programs for the staff of the ADP.Responsible for keeping the General Manager informed on operations of the ADP and provide monthly
written and oral reports on progress, problems, and other proj ects-programs relating to the Program that would
bene?t landowners and growers.Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:Considerable knowledge of agriculture economic and marking procedures.Knowledge with Tribal and BIA Realty land leasing procedures.Knowledge of the Gila River Indian Community.Knowledge of various ?eld and heavy equipment for land leveling and ditching.Knowledge of the operation of GPS survey equipment and land leveling design software.Knowledge of principles and practices of program and project management, and administrative procedures
and reporting systems.Knowledge of principles of supervision and performance evaluation, effectively plan, supervise and
coordinate work of others.Ability to utilize computers and related application software (i.e., word processing, Excel spreadsheets,
databases, etc.) and land leveling ?eld software.Ability to analyze problems and to identify alternative solutions, project consequences and implement
recommendations in support of goals and objectives.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.Ability to demonstrate competency in ?nancial and program planning.Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees, Community
Of?cials, and the general public.Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position, agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Agriculture, Agricultural Sciences, Economics,
Biological Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Agribusiness or a closely related ?eld and seven (7)
years of experience in agricultural management, agricultural development or closely related experience, and
which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience, OrHigh School diploma or GED and eleven (1 1) years of experience in agricultural management, agricultural
development or closely related experience and which includes four (4) years of supervisory experience.

Required to obtain a Tribal Driving permit. Valid state driver’s license with a current proof of driving record forthepast 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record must besubmitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission of the
