QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES:

  • Responsible for receiving incoming calls for individuals/groups interested in staying at the Resort. Takes ownership of caller’s request and ensures follow-up in accordance with Resort’s standards
  • Must have sufficient working knowledge of all departments, including Housekeeping, Front Office, and Engineering
  • Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction Guarantee
  • Receives and processes incoming customer reservations
  • Greets customers and finds out what type of reservation required (dates, times, type of rooms, etc.)
  • Offers alternative room types, rates, and packages to the customer
  • Records reservation information accurately; identifies and records group and transient book codes and special requests
  • Notifies other departments of VIP arrivals
  • Records and processes deposit and billing information
  • Maximizes occupancy and average rate by offering a variety of rates and promotional packages and by helping to maintain accurate occupancy forecasts
  • Utilizes suggestive selling techniques as appropriate
  • Adheres to rate control procedures based on availability and forecasted occupancy
  • Records requests for special accommodations and suites
  • Handle and distribute faxes and written messages for internal and external guests
  • Ability to follow department policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Follows all safety policies
  • Responsible, reliable, and must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guests needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to lift in excess to 50 pounds and push or pull 100
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years customer service experience an asset
  • Must speak, understand, read, and write English proficiently
  • Computer literate in the Microsoft Office Suite, fax machines, copiers, and scanners
