This position provides legal, administrative, and clerical support to the Legal Services Office and paralegal assistance to AOC and Arizona Judicial Department staff. Work is also performed on behalf of the Legal Services Office independently as assigned and within established policies and procedures and is reviewed by the Chief counsel or Assistant Counsel.

The position composes and produces draft responses to questions and contract requests, summaries of court opinions, rules and litigation reports, manuals, internal reports, and final Legal Services work product approved by an attorney tracks, screens, and coordinates requests for legal services, prioritizes a complex and demanding workload; communicates verbally and in writing with all users of Legal Services; and maintains paper and electronic files.

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and/or completion of an accredited paralegal program and training in use of legal research software applications. This position also requires two years’ experience as a legal assistant or paralegal and extensive experience using office software applications.

The preferred candidate will have the ability to follow oral and written instructions concerning complex matters, proficiency in use of computer hardware and software to produce correspondence and reports, and the discretion to maintain the highly confidential nature of the office.
