In order to maximize the quality and impact that Arizona’s Judicial Branch has on the communities it serves, the Arizona Supreme Court has demonstrated a commitment to providing its employees the highest quality education and training programs possible. The Education Services Division serves as the primary coordinating unit to service this need, including for judicial officers, court staff, and probation officers throughout the state. By utilizing cutting-edge adult education theory and practice, and through a variety of educational modalities (e.g. in-person sessions, DVD’s, computer-based trainings, live broadcasts, etc), the Division directly provides and indirectly supports the education and training requirements for a broad audience with diverse needs.
This position will work within the Education Programs Unit of the Division, whose primary purpose is the training and education of judges and court staff. This position’s main focus will be on providing administrative and logistical support to the unit’s judicial training programs, working in close coordination with an education specialist and program leadership. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing program registrations, coordinating participant travel and lodging, providing administrative support for committee and workgroup meetings, supporting the production of educational materials, assisting with off-site conferences and meetings, tracking program statistics and expenses and producing reports thereof, and providing reception area back-up coverage.
The successful candidate will hold a high school diploma, or equivalent, plus three years of increasingly responsible experience in a full-function office. Knowledge and experience with a variety of office software and equipment is also required, including a minimum of intermediate-level skill with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Other requirements include strong communication and writing skills, effective organizational and time management skills, the ability to complete detailed work accurately and in a timely manner, the ability to follow oral and written instructions and manage several ongoing projects, and the ability to monitor deadlines and provide appropriate follow-up. Knowledge of the Arizona court system and familiarity with contemporary adult education programming practices is preferred.
Must be able to able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
Travel level: up to 25%.
