Jobing Description

This position oversees and leads the entire drop count staff while being ultimately responsible for ensuring the safeguarding of all cash and chip assets by all drop team members and conforming with internal control policies and standard operating procedures, as well as demonstrating the GILA WAY.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
  • Collaborates with and coordinates all activities with multiple departments such as Audit, Security, Surveillance, Slots, Cage and Vault.
  • Orients, trains and supervises Drop Count Team Supervisors on all policies and standard operating procedures, currency sorting machines and cash handling techniques.
  • Responsible for enforcing compliance with Gila River Enterprise Internal Controls and departmental policies and standard operating procedures and complies with federal cash reporting requirements and strict key control procedures.
  • Ensures that all drop and count procedures are undertaken in a compliant manner.
  • Maintains thorough and continually updated understanding of internal control systems and gaming compact requirements. 
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports all variances to management and TGO.
  • Participates in budget development activities and ensures departmental budgetary compliance. 
  • Responsible for mentoring and developing Pathways Mentorship Program participants to successfully transition to management level positions.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises multiple supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.  

Skills / Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years management or supervisory experience working with large volumes of currency or other negotiable instruments, preferably in a casino/gaming environment, or five (5) years increasingly responsible management experience in casino finance related roles.
  • Knowledge and experience with cash control concepts and practices.

  • Must possess strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills, strong telephone etiquette, and be a self-starter with the ability to follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision. 
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol test and agree to maintain a Drug-Free Workplace as a condition of employment.
  • Must pass a full background check to be certified/licensed prior to employment.
  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
