Cenpatico Schools/ABA offers an exciting array of professional opportunities for Special Education Certified Teacher for the 2012/2013 School Year. Cenpatico Schools currently operates 5 private school sites in Maricopa County: Dysart, Tempe, Coolidge, and Chandler. We provide educational and behavioral health support services to children and families with special needs. The disability categories served at each site vary, but include ED, LD, MIMR/MOMR, MD, HI, and Autism.
We are looking for a Self-Contained Middle School/High School teacher for ED students at our Dysart campus and Chandler campus. The position will start in late July/August depending on the campus.
Position Purpose:
Perform duties to instruct students in skills, knowledge, behavior and values as specified by state and federal statutes, the school curriculum and established I.E.P.
Position Responsibilities:
* Instructs students in skills, knowledge, behavior and values as specified by state and federal statutes, the school curriculum and established I.E.P.
* Develops and implements new I.E.Ps based on data driven student needs.
* Creates and implements weekly lesson plans based on individual IEP goals, using a variety of instructional materials and techniques.
* Evaluates students growth in skills, knowledge, behavior and values; keeps appropriate records and reports progress to parents through conferences, mid-quarter and quarterly reports and other school-approved procedures.
* Identifies student needs on a regular basis.
* Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
* Monitors and maintains accurate and complete classroom and student records as required by state and federal statutes and school policy.
* Documents all incidents of inappropriate student/staff conduct and consults appropriateness with supervisor regarding all incidents.
Skills / Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Special Education or related field. Experience working in a behavioral health or educational environment preferred. Previous experience working with special needs children in self-contained settings (preferred)
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate required. Certification in Special Education required. DPS Fingerprint Clearing Card or ability to obtain required. Child CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
