We are currently in need of a Quality Improvement Director for our Medical Staff Office. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this position directs the Quality Improvement Programs by developing and supporting organization wide tools, systems, policies and procedures. Defines quality and performance improvement goals, and measurements. Monitors performance, assesses and prioritizes risk. Regularly reports results to stakeholders.

Also responsible for creating a caring and receptive patient environment and an effective, efficient, and productive check in and check-out process. Responsive to patients‚ needs via telephone or in person.

Skills / Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Critical thinking, self-starter with high level of integrity and confidence.
* Demonstrated experience in Quality Improvement in an organization.
* Bachelor‚s degree in nursing, business or health care administration.
* Greater than three years in a quality management or clinical performance improvement role.
* Demonstrated understanding of process improvement models

NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Master's Degree in a related program
* Graduate of an accredited RN program
* Current nursing license with the State of Arizona
* Five to seven years experience in a primary care environment
* Demonstrated understanding of clinical nursing methods and techniques
* Substantial experience in implementation or maintenance of a Joint Commission accredited environment

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of our Joint Commission accreditation.
* Develop and update Quality Management and Performance Improvement program annually, implementing and maintaining agency standards and indicators of quality as defined by regulatory requirements, OPR, Joint Commission, OSHA and AZDHS.
* Assess and ensure compliance with quality improvement and corporate compliance plan against internal (policy/procedure) and external (contract/program) requirements; report regularly on results to key stakeholders.
* Organize and facilitate regularly scheduled training with directors, team leaders and staff as needed to educate and implement quality and corporate compliance as a strategy including the use of technology-enabled learning.
* Develop and implement training for all employees in quality improvement principles and corporate compliance requirements maximizing technology-enabled learning opportunities.
* Develop, review and update clinical policies, protocols and procedures consistent with regulations and monitor to ensure compliance.
* Audit appropriate documentation by clinical support staff in all patient records and nurse/provider communications.
* Support Quality Improvement Committee processes and functions.
* Support Clinical Department Chairs in peer review processes.
