Job Description:
Responsible for the preparation and processing of weekly payroll for over 300 employees; review, approve and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, accounting and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, including labor " home" work, overtime, leave balances, head count, and other reports as needed).
Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. Setup each employee, validate programs for each employee's charges, and adherence to FLSA; monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service
Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to HR policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations
Skills / Requirements
Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Access, and Internet Explorer
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system and time tracking system (Replicon).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
General knowledge of procedures and activities within own work area
Work closely with the corporate accounting team in Atlanta.
Job Detailed Duties:
Responsible for processing engagement payroll and benefits:
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions.
Prepare statistical reports on team member pay, bonuses, incentives, PTO (Paid Time Off), sick, disability, FMLA and workers compensation leave, taxes and withholdings.
Maintain accurate records, spreadsheets and files
Serve as liaison to team members and with third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll benefits are processed accurately and reflect company specific pay policies.
Audit team member pay records, and reconciles totals by department, location etc.
Be responsible for pay policies, (e.g., PTO, LOA, disability, workers compensation, contracts, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensure appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.
Verify compliance with federal and state payroll requirements, and stays current with changes in the law.
Document payroll and benefit processes and procedures.
Always be open to possible changes in processes and procedures, including system automation, that will make the work more efficient and less prone to error
Ensure all processes and procedures meet government requirements.
Assist with audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings and related documentation.
Work with outsource vendors to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing and benefits
Apply a basic understanding of the underlying principles of a professional discipline typically obtained through formal study and/or experience.
Adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities and accepts responsibility for results of actions.
Work with team to support achievement of project milestones and deliver on internal and/or external commitments.
When assigned to a customer team, support project teams or specific components of a customer engagement.
