Overview: Digital Imaging Clerk - Full Time, 32 hrs/wk Requires: 1 yr office medical office experience, computer skills, and medical terminology.Preferred: Current experience in a busy radiology outpatient center. Responsibilities: Oversees the flow of and requests for information within Medical Imaging applicable to archiving, storage, communications and Radiology Information Systems. Supports clinical staff and patients in the acquisition and distribution of digital patient records. Performs record retention duties including: the maintenance of confidential medical records, complying with requests for information/records, providing service to physicians, lawyers, radiologists, patients, and other staff by following established department and hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. Ensures the proper current and continued maintenance, safeguarding, and integrity of patients' medical imaging record in accordance with current HIPAA regulations.

One (1) year experience in a hospital/medical or Radiology environment, or equivalent experience preferred. Computer literate with basic medical terminology preferred. The ability to distinguish between various types of medical imaging exams is a plus. Knowledge of filing, color-coded and retrieval systems preferred.
