Job: Psychosocial Rehab Specialist

Summary:
Trains members and staff in psychosocial rehabilitation services at Specialized Services sites and at Adult Integrated Services sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Trains staff and members to provide direct supervision and/or support to participants involved in a specialized pro�gram and/or in treatment at the Adult Integrated Sites..
2. Trains participants in daily psychosocial rehabilitation activities including, but not limited to vocational, educational, and community living skills development; health and wellness initiatives, and other life enhancing program services or as directed by the Rehabilitation Supervisor.
3. Monitor and track daily participation totals.
4. Assesses member, staff and agency needs in the area of psychosocial services.
5. Develops, implements and evaluates full curriculum for psychosocial skills and assists members in full participation of the program curriculum.
6. Monitor member interaction and provide guidance or crisis intervention as needed.
7. Assist clients with their individual requests, ideas, or questions regarding the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program.
8. Maintains regular contact with treatment staff to inform and be informed of client's progress and makes recommendations for continuing care.
9. Provide member support, information, and encouragement in scheduling their individual daily activities and groups in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program.
10. Provides community outreach and education to complement Psychosocial Rehabilitation services.
11. Lead various groups and activities in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program.
12. When appropriate, assists in after hour groups and activities in the community.
13. Conducts speaking engagements and participates in workshops related to Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
14. Maintains all appropriate records related to job duties.
15. Performs other related duties in accordance with agency growth and changes.

Position Requirements: Pre-employment Competencies/requirements
Education:
o Master�s degree in rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, education or related behavioral health field
o Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, education, or related behavioral health field
Certifications:
o Arizona Department of Transportation (DOT) certification to drive agency vehicles
Experience:
o If Master�s Degree; 2 (two) years of work experience in psychosocial rehabilitation, teaching adults, or a behavioral health setting.
o If Bachelor�s Degree; 4 (four) years of work experience in psychosocial rehabilitation, teaching adults, or a behavioral health setting
Other:
o Valid Arizona Driver's license
o Proof of automobile insurance
o CPR
o First Aid
o Extensive knowledge of community resources.
o Extensive knowledge of behavioral health challenges which include knowledge of the impacts of mental illness, domestic violence, and the dynamics of addictive behavior.
o Familiarity with various ethnic and cultural groups.
o Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
o Willingness to travel to members� home environments.
Skills:
o Extensive knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation methods and models of service for working with persons who have a serious mental illness.
o Extensive knowledge of adult learning, teaching daily living skills, and group processes
o Intermediate to advanced computer skills using MS Office products, Word, Excel, Access, etc., importing/exporting data to/from applications.
o Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
o Ability to communicate and interact with members currently in treatment.
o Ability to effectively handle crisis/emergency situations and take necessary actions.
o Ability to work as a member of a team.
