Education and Training
Computer Science degree or equivalent
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the development and maintenance of our company websites and other online marketing tools.
Work with online marketing director to define and document functional and technical requirements as well as analyze the user experience requirements, recommend appropriate design alternatives and assist in development and maintenance processes.
Under the direction of the project manager, participate and/or take lead in defining application architecture and individual application and component designs.
Assist with graphic design and development and integration of online and offline marketing collateral.
Skills / Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven proficiency in the following languages & applications: Joomla, XHTML, XML, PHP, mySQL, AJAX, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, Current MS Office Suite
At least 3 years of professional business and consumer web development and design experience or education. Portfolio may substitute for professional experience.
Expert knowledge in Joomla installation, configuration, administration, security, and optimization desired.
Expert knowledge and experience in creating commercial website applications.
Expert knowledge and experience in creating commercial Joomla components, modules, and mambots.
Expert knowledge and experience in customizing existing 3rd party components, modules, mambots, and plug-ins.
Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
Expert knowledge of PHP and mySQL.
Applied experience integrating SEO and SEM.
Experience integrating Internet driven social media (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc).
Experience developing production-level code and prototypes.
Work primarily with PHP, procedural and object-oriented design, dynamic content retrieval, Unit testing techniques, debugging techniques, HTTP, MySQL and Apache.
Working within Windows and Linux and primarily open-source environment.
Writing standards-compliant complex CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, within a small group in a start-up development environment.
Good understanding of Apache web server configurations.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming model is required.
Above average digital design/Web graphic skills.
Transform internal and client requirements into technical specifications and then into a finished Joomla website.
