Devereux Arizona provides tools for children, adults and families with behavioral health and mental health needs to become successful members of the community. We're recruiting for full-time ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST for our nursing dept on the Sweetwater Campus in Scottsdale. This position assists the Medical Director and the nursing department in the daily provision and coordination of medical services for RTC clients. Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm, reports to Nursing Supervisor.

Job Summary: Assist the Medical Director and the nursing department in the daily provision and coordination of medical services for RTC clients. Ensures that all medical invoices for those medical services are dealt with promptly and accurately. Schedules and coordinates all off campus medical consults as ordered by medical professionals.

Professional Skills:

1. Coordinates the medical needs of the residential clients. Schedules appointments for the clients as requested by the Medical Director or nursing department, while ensuring that there are no conflicts between the clients’ needs and Devereux operations.

2. Maintains accurate client information including: name, insurance carrier, eligibility dates, primary care providers (Medical, Dental, Vision etc.), primary pharmacy, and all other authorized medical service.

3. Ensures that external vendors and pharmacy have accurate client insurance information. Reviews all invoices related to medical and pharmacy charges in order to obtain prompt insurance coverage.

4. Coordinates the transportation of all off campus appointments in collaboration with the scheduling coordinator. Maintains a weekly list of all scheduled off campus appointment that is regularly distributed to campus staff. Transports clients to medical or court appointments when needed.

5. Attends required trainings and clinical supervision in accordance with Devereux polices, procedures, and licensing standards to maintain direct care privilege.

6. Other: Performs all other duties as required and assigned by supervisor.

Skills / Requirements
HS diploma or GED and minimum 2 years experience in behavioral health required. Prefer previous experience in medical billing. Must be organized and very proficient on computers. We will first consider male applicants only, as we need males to transport male clients. Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards).

You must also meet ALL of the following Pre-Employment Requirements to be considered:
-Valid AZ Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check
-Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)
-Pre-employment Physical and Physical Abilities Test (see below): NOTE - You must pass both the physical and physical abilities test to be considered for this position.
-Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results

Physical Requirements:
- Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, stooping, bending & standing required
- Ability to lift 20–45 lbs to physically intervene with clients per Crisis Prevention Intervention
techniques
- Frequent planned, outside activities causing exposure to sunlight and heat
- Annual physical and Tuberculosis (TB) test showing evidence you are able to perform your job
and free from TB
