Job: ILS Specialist III

General Dynamics C4 Systems provides its government and commercial customers around the globe with integrated network and communication solutions for mission critical applications including satellite communication, satellite operations, network systems and information services, blue force tracking, homeland security, detection, surveillance, intelligence, and emergency response..

General Dynamics C4S NSD Operations has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer for its Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) group. A minimum of 2 years experience in the fields of reliability engineering or industrial/systems engineering is required, or an MS degree in Systems/Industrial Engineering with no direct experience.

1.) Write Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) sheets and formulate mathematical models using computer-aided engineering resources to identify units posing excessive failure risk.
2.) Create availability block diagrams (ABDs) and reliability block diagrams (RBDs) from engineering design data.
3.) Determine cost-effective sparing level for Lowest Replaceable Units across a large system.
4.) Apply Supportability Analysis to Maintenance Planning.

BSEE or BSIE/BSSE or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years experience or MS degree in Engineering with no experience may be acceptable.

Candidate analyzes preliminary plans (engineering design, system architectures) to develop reliability, availability, and maintainability models to achieve customer lifecycle support objectives. Proposes design modifications to engineering and maintainability/supportability to improve availability, cost, and other performance requirements. Knowledge of performance and cost optimization modeling is required.

Must be able to travel 20% of the time. Applicant must be a US citizen and be capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance.
