General Dynamics C4 Systems' Battle Management Systems Division designs, develops, and integrates highly sophisticated command, control, and communications systems for the U.S. military, federal agencies, civil governments and related international customers. These state-of-the-art, integrated systems combine advanced visualization software and multi-sensor inputs to provide near real-time situational awareness to tactical decision makers. Our engineers help transform large amounts of complex data into useful information that is clearly and intuitively presented to end users, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. We design and develop systems and software for a wide range of global missions including: battle command; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; airspace management; crisis and emergency management; peace keeping and contingency operations; drug intervention, and public safety.
The CM Manager will assume both a hands-on and management role in defining Hardware and Software Configuration Management (CM) strategies and plans to maintain all system development artifacts. The individual will work with task leads, developers, project managers and QA to analyze configuration management requirements in order to design and implement the appropriate CM and system build solutions. This individual must have "hands-on" experience implementing multiple CM tools, system and software builds and releases, and various code promotional models that best fit a project's specific technology. This individual must have experience architecting Bills of Material and Bills of Information for hardware and software products demonstrating the ability to understand the technical baseline of the deliverables. Daily Responsibilities - Design and implement scalable configuration and change management processes for development groups ranging in size. - Optimize process and performance of configuration and change management tools to accelerate development of quality software. - Ensure business continuity by ensuring VOB and VOB backup integrity. - Design, implement, and maintain build automation scripts. - Set-up and maintain build environments. - Manage the source control system. - Track and co-ordinate releases across the development and Production servers. - Maintain ClearCase MultiSite continuity across multiple sites where applicable - Train users in configuration and change management processes and tools. - Collaborate with IT, Team Leads, and Management to implement and maintain enterprise-wide development processes. - Maintain up-to-date documentation on all configuration and change management policies, procedures and customizations. - Manage CM assets such as personnel, hardware, and software. - Build Organizational value through mentoring, training, process improvements, and guidance to subordinate co-workers. - Manage personnel performance. - Evaluate and recommend tools and services as needed. Candidate will also be responsible for supporting proposals and the management of ClearQuest schema, ClearCase and ClearCase MultiSite. RequisitePro, DOORs skills desirable. Ideally, the candidate must have a demonstrated working knowledge of the configuration management process and software development process in an SEI CMM or CMMI environment. Demonstrate ability to propose and develop innovative ideas resolving business or project related issues. Engineering degree, preferably BSCS/EE, with a minimum 10 years of expierence of which a minimum of 3 years, 5 is preferred, of Leader/Management of staff of Hardware and Software Configuration Management using and administering CM tools such as TeamCenter and Clearquest, ClearCase, ClearCase MultiSite and/or Rose and/or DOORs. Knowledge and experience with additional Rational Suite tools and integration and testing experience is a plus. Strong people skills and experience managing Configuration Management personnel demonstrating organizational development through training, mentoring, and implementing strategies and process improvements to automate CM tasks and reduce cycle time. Soft skills to include managing personnel issues, schedule and status development tasks, design/track/analyze metrics, and provide excellent customer support. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills to support interaction with internal team and customer representatives. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance.
