Overview: This position performs prescribed C.T. procedures by following department/hospital policies procedures and protocols. This position demostrates competence to ensure optimal care/treatment of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Service excellence is demonstrated by consistently exhibiting the BH Service Standards in the performance of this job. Providing CT scan coverage for a level 1 trauma center and stroke center center of excellence. Providing care for ICU and other inpatient floors. Utilizing three 64 slice Toshiba CT scanners. Responsibilities: 1. Demonstrates competence in the setup and acquisition of prescribed C.T. procedures in accordance with established departmental/hospital policies and procedures. Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Examples:a) Obtains and verifies physician orders.b) Selects proper equipment settings and technical factors. c) Recognizes anatomy and pathology.d) Explains procedure to patient and family. 2. Demonstrates competence in the processing of prescribed diagnostic C.T. procedures in accordance with established departmental/hospital policies and procedures. Examples:a) Correctly identifies and label films, images, and data submitted to the physician for interpretation. b) Optimizes the image quality of the films, images, and data submitted to the physician for interpretation.c) Archives data/reports to backup storage media. 3. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional C.T. procedures in accordance with established departmental/hospital policies and procedures. Examples:a) Obtains and verifies required documentation (i.e. H & P; Lab, Surgery & Pathology Reports; Physician order; Consent; and previous Diagnostic/Therapeutic Exam Reports.)b) Performs room setup to ensure safety and prevent contamination.c) Selects proper equipment and technical factors.d) Recognizes anatomy and pathology.e) Assists the physician. f) Performs room cleanup. 4. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements as indicated. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notify appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. 5. Ensures the efficient operation of workflow of the department by scheduling and re-evaluating workflow throughout the day. This is accomplished by having the exam rooms stocked, performing room set-up, establishing patient transport, and schedule coordination with multi disciplinary team members. 6. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation. Examples:a) Patient and exam history forms, order verification, transmittals, RadNet functions, film jackets, content labels.b) Processing appropriate and timely charges for all procedures and supplies.

Requires certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the Arizona Medical Radiologic Technologist Board of Examiners.Two years of experience as a C.T.
