We are immediately looking to hire BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIANS for our Apache Junction, AZ operations.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Behavioral Health Technician's main purpose is to provide support for patients and assist in helping to maintain a safe environment. As a member of the therapeutic team you will assist patients by directing interactions, including but not limited to behavior management, and facilitating therapeutic, recreational, and social/life skills activities.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists with client groups and activities.
• Conducts and documents activities of daily living skills.
• Able to verbally de-escalate acting out clients.
• Follow all residential rules and schedules.
• Monitor clients in the self-administration of medications.
• Progress notes and group notes shall be completed within 24 hours of each session. All sessions shall be documented.
• Orient new clients to the residential program and document the orientation pieces completed.
• Completes required annual training/continuing education.
• Maintains ethical and therapeutic boundaries with clients.
• Participates in supervision as required.
• Gives assistance with additional case management matters.

Skills / Requirements
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent PLUS 4 years full-time Behavioral Health work experience
OR
Associate’s degree PLUS 2 years full-time Behavioral Health work experience;
OR
Bachelor’s degree PLUS 1 year full-time Behavioral Health work experience;
OR
Bachelor or Master’s degree in field related to Behavioral Health.

EXPERIENCE:
Ability to obtain Certification by a Certified CPI instructor within 90 days of employment.
Demonstrated ability to provide Crisis Intervention.
Experience working with children and families

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Ability to effectively use CPI and behavior management techniques in crisis situations.
• Knowledge of symptomatology of clients' diagnosed mental disorders or addictions;
• Knowledge of indications, common side effects, reactions and interactions of medications prescribed for self administration by agency clients.
• Knowledge of behavior management skills and activity supervision.
• Skilled in the provision of recreational and social activities, life skills training and/or milieu.
• Ability to read/speak fluent English, bilingual optional.
• Ability to frequently use simple math calculations.
• Ability to drive Agency van as assigned and be at least 21 years of age with valid Driver’s license
