RECREATION LEADER II – TEENS
3 Positions Available
Temporary – Part-time

Location: Andersen Jr. High School
1255 N. Dobson Rd

Work Hours: Split Shift - Monday – Thursday 10:30am – 1pm and 3pm-9pm
Fridays 10:30am-1:00pm
Rotating Saturdays 8:30am – 2pm
Approximately 30 hours/wk during the Chandler Unified School District school year and 20 hours/wk during school breaks.


We have a great opportunity for an experienced individual to provide and program recreation activities for teens at Andersen Jr. High School. We are seeking creative, energetic candidates who are self-starters, work well with the public, have excellent customer service skills, are team oriented and have a positive attitude. We are also looking for individuals who have the ability to work in and supervise a high-energy environment and can serve as a positive role model.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
·Coordinates recreation activities for teens at Andersen Jr. High;
·Organizes and directs teen groups;
·Supervises a variety of competitive and non-competitive games, stunts, contests, and instructional and classroom activities;
·Supervises and directs Recreation Leader I and Recreation Aide employees assigned to assist;
·Officiates at sports contests and may prepare the playing field and instruct participants;
·Issues and receives recreation equipment such as balls, bats, gloves, nets, and horseshoes;
·Accepts and processes reservations and registrations for individuals, groups, and facilities;
·Organizes and supervises field trips;
·Maintains attendance and activity records, score cards, and team standings;
·Maintains accident, incident, and emergency reports;

Minimum Qualifications
*High School Student;
*One-year of experience in a recreation environment;
*Valid Arizona Drivers license. Must be able to drive a 15 passenger van.

Desirable Qualifications
*High school diploma or GED equivalency;
*Two years recent experience working in a recreation environment;
*Experience working with teens;
*Some customer service experience;
*Supervisory experience;
*First Aid or CPR/AED certification.

Consideration will be given to any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Drug Screen: The City of Chandler conducts pre-employment drug/alcohol testing. All offers of employment are contingent upon negative drug/alcohol test results.

A register of qualified candidates will be active for four months should another position become available. The examination process may vary if determined necessary.
