Job: Electrician

Maintains, installs, trouble shoots and repairs airport electrical systems, electrical equipment and airfield lighting systems. Visually inspects work to be performed, plans and lays out work based on interpretation of blue prints, diagrams, plans, sketches and oral instructions. Plans, installs and modifies building lighting and power distribution systems in conformance with the National Electric Code. Works with contractors and may inspect their work to ensure compliance with Airport specifications. Plans, installs, and maintains airfield lighting systems and some navigational aids with strict compliance to FAA regulations and recommendations. Inspects, tests, and maintains fire alarm panels, pull stations, strobe alarms, and emergency lights in conformance with the National Fire Protection Association Code. Repairs or replaces electrical switches and fixtures. Promotes an effective, responsive, and value-based organizational culture. Champions the values of the Airport through example and accountability. Supervisor reviews work through reports, meetings, and conferences regarding results expected and achieved. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification(s) Required: High School Diploma or GED and any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to successful completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program plus at least two years experience as a journey level electrician. Clear a security background check. Possess a valid Arizona Driver's License by date of hire.Preferred/Desirable Qualification (s): Two years progressively responsible experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and basic electronic systems in an airport environment.
