Intermountain Centers is a private, not-for-profit service organization, which provides residential and home-based services to a variety of clinical populations. Intermountain programs are designed to develop interpersonal and social skills, self-sufficiency and self-management skills, academic and vocational skills, community awareness and responsibility and constructive future planning.
Intermountain Centers is currently recruiting for a Support Specialist I to assist in providing education, group facilitation, respite services and support to youth and young adults enrolled in our behavioral health Transitional and Support Services programs. Duties include, but are not limited to: PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provides direct care and supervision of clients in the respite and/or day treatment program. • Implements formal training programs and initiates incidental teaching opportunities. • Assists in the development of daily lesson plans and activity plans for clients who are participating in group and respite activities. • Develops and maintains professional relationships with families, caseworkers, referring workers, employers, families, and any other workers deemed necessary. • Ensures continuity of client’s program through program data sheets, attendance sheets, medication administration records, community outing sheets, incident reports, unusual incident reports and other forms of documentation deemed necessary. • Transports clients to and from community outings. • Maintains daily physical condition of agency vehicles. • Participates and assists in other aspects of program, e.g. training, staff meetings, client’s needs. • Assists clients as needed. • Provides meaningful teaching opportunities and experiences in all program areas to include: academic/vocational, community, social, self-care, and recreation. • Implements, enforces, and documents behavioral contingencies to clients. • Provides adequate supervision for the clients in the respite setting and in the community to include rendering emergency aid when necessary. • Develops and maintains professional relationships with necessary officials, families, and community members. • Keeps necessary ICHD staff informed of all developments. • Transports clients to and from community outings and any other activities deemed appropriate. • Attends and participates in treatment meetings, staff meetings, staff trainings, workshops and in-service trainings. • Becomes familiar with the social, vocational and medical histories documented in each client’s file. • Attends to client’s physical and/or self-care needs. Skills / Requirements
• Associates degree, high school diploma, or high school equivalency required
• CPR and First Aide Certified (ICHD provides training) • 21 years of age • Possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License and 39 month driving record that meets insurance requirements • Legal record void of any felony Important Notes
