Job: Recreation Leader II - Environmental Education Center - Temporary/Part-time

We are seeking a fun and innovative Recreation Leader II to join our team. This position will lead and facilitate educational and recreational programs related to nature, the environment, and the outdoors and special events, including birthday parties.

Duties Include:
*Assisting customers on the phones and at the front desk,
*Completing room set-ups and tear-downs for classroom reservations
*Accepting and processing reservations and registrations for individuals, groups, and facilities;
*Organizing and supervising programs and classes

The ideal candidate will be an energetic, creative, team player who has a strong interest in nature and the environment, can communicate effectively, and is motivated to provide excellent customer service to people of all ages, from pre-schoolers to active adults.

Location: Environmental Education Center
4050 East Chandler Heights Rd. (Lindsay & Chandler Heights Rd)


Work Hours: Approximately 19 hours per week
Monday - 8:00am-5:00pm
Thursday – 3:00pm-8:00pm
Saturday 8:00am-2:00pm

Minimum Qualifications
*High school student; and
*One (1) year of experience in a recreation environment; and
*Valid Arizona Driver’s License.

Desirable Qualifications
*High school diploma or GED;
*Experience and interest in nature;
*First Aid and/or CPR/AED certification.

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

A register will remain active for four months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler conducts pre-employment drug screens and background checks. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful background and drug screen results.

This position is temporary, part-time and not eligible for benefits and will serve at the discretion of the department head.

The examination process may vary if determined necessary.
