Intermountain Centers is a private, not-for-profit service organization, which provides residential and home-based services to a variety of clinical populations. Intermountain programs are designed to develop interpersonal and social skills, self-sufficiency and self-management skills, academic and vocational skills, community awareness and responsibility and constructive future planning.
Intermountain Centers is currently recruiting for Masters level In-Home Counselors to provide treatment and support to families in Pima county, where one or more family members may be placed outside the home in foster, group or institutional care, or are returning to the home following an out-of home placement. Work with several families at any given time. Requires flexibility, including on-call responsibility. Provide family education and skills training to formulate goal-oriented treatment plans. Utilize therapeutic approaches with an emphasis on empirical behavior techniques. Provide advocacy work with schools, court and other social service agencies as needed. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide ongoing in-home treatment and support services to clients and families utilizing therapeutic approaches compatible with ICHD treatment philosophy, with an emphasis on empirical behavior techniques. • Provide education, skills training and the formulation of goal-oriented treatment/service plans to clients and families to prevent recurrence of crisis, to promote adaptive behaviors, and to maintain or improve functioning • Assist families in obtaining community resources • Develop treatment team recommendations for follow-up support and services. • Actively participate as a member of the client’s/family’s Child and Family Team (CFT) • Provide 24/7 crisis and support services on an as needed basis • Work an approved schedule and acceptable level of attendance. Skills / Requirements
Education and legal requirements:
• Master’s degree in a field related to behavioral health (psychology, social work, education, etc.); or any Master’s degree and at least one year of full-time behavioral health work experience required. • Two years full-time behavioral health work experience preferred; utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) or Dialectical Behavioral Theory (DBT). • Must pass First Aid and CPR certification. (ICHD provides training) • Possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License and 39-month driving record that meets insurance requirements • Legal record void of any felony • All employees must be fingerprinted • Each staff member shall furnish on a prescribed form any physical examination report including a current TB test Important Notes
Bi-lingual applicants encouraged for all In Home Counselor positions; one position prefers candidate with background in early childhood development for Birth to 10 Yrs. program.
