Cadillac Sales / Manager Trainee

The Cadillac Sales Professionals, as with all positions within dealerships, are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards. Our culture welcomes those who can adapt to a luxury Cadillac customer assisting in our "Remarkable Experience". We focus highly on our Customer Service and you will be expected to be a part of it daily.

Job duties for a Sales Professional include but are not limited to:

  • Working with our current database of sales and service customers to enhance dealership sales. This job role will be done on a daily basis as part of your role as a Sales Professional. You will work closely with the General Sales Director to create your own work plan.
  • Generally, you will be the first person speaking with customers in the first stages of being involved with a sale. This is not an "office" job as we want you to be prepared for the average duties being part of our procedures are much different than those that are typically expected.
  • Devotion to customer satisfaction
  • Establish personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Report objectives, planned activities, reviews and analyses to the General Sales Manager and the General Sales Director.
  • Determine each customer's vehicle needs by asking questions and listening.
  • Keep abreast of incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc., and how they benefit customers.
  • Demonstrate new vehicles (includes test drives).
  • Deliver vehicles to customers. The delivery process ensures that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty and paperwork, and it lays the foundation for customer loyalty.
  • Work with the service department and body shop to ensure that vehicles are reconditioned as expected and on schedule.
  • Attend sales meetings.
  • Maintain a prospect development system that includes a group of prospect locators and sales associates.
  • Follow up on all sales leads from a variety of sources (phone, walk-ins, newspaper ads, referrals, etc.)
  • Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month and year to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.
  • Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technological changes in the product.
  • Know and understand equity and values, and be able to explain depreciation to the customer.
  • Know and understand the federal, state and local laws that govern retail auto sales.
  • Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report all accidents to a General Sales Manager or the General Sales Director.

  • Skills / Requirements
  • Must have 2 years of successful sales experience
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Valid in-state driver's license.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA
  • All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.
  • Demonstrated passion for building a strong growing business consistent with the corporate objectives and goals.
  • Verifiable experience building and implementing successful marketing teams and business development plans.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent people & communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Ability to schedule and execute multiple tasks among competing interests.
  • Strong management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint etc;
  • Must be proficient at business math.
  • Must have problem solving ability.
  • Must be mature, flexible, self motivated.
  • It is recommended that this position requires extensive automotive sales experience and several years in a dealership management position.
  • Personnel require strong communication skills in order to work with customers, employees and management as they represent the dealership.
  • A college degree or equivalent experience in finance is preferred. A strong background in business, mathematics, marketing and computers is also useful.
