ATK Integrated Weapon Systems (IWS) is a leading producer of medium-caliber chain gun systems for ground, sea, air platforms, a complete family of medium-caliber training and tactical ammunition that meets todays requirements and serves as the cornerstone for tomorrows Future Combat Systems. Experience IWS Culture: Click Here ATK is seeking an Export/Import Control Officer (EICO) to support the Export/Import Compliance Manager in various aspects of the EICO function. The successful candidate must have the ability to leverage technology for increased speed and flexibility in meeting the business requirements. This position will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with all regulatory bodies, and responsible to provide guidance for assigned Program Teams in the Integrated Weapon Systems division. Specific areas of responsibilities will include: Interprets government regulations including the Arms Export Control Act (ACEA), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Act (EAA), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) and the Office of Defense Trade Controls and U.S. Customs Service agencies. Process and manage licenses, TAAs, MLAs, OSRs, General Correspondence, WDAs etc. as needed. Train employees on EICO processes and procedures to ensure understanding of roles and responsibilities Provides strategic export/import and BATFE advice and support to the IWS organization, initiating strategies, programs, processes and tools to meet strategic and critical business challenges. Acts as liaison between departments, all levels of management and other EICOs to meet the division business needs. Prepare materials and assist in conducting training on regulatory compliance with all relevant departments throughout the organization. Conduct assessments of current export authorizations. Assist on investigations of potential issues as needed. Exercise independent judgment in assessing procedural weaknesses and develop new procedures and tools to maintain compliance, and assist in executing international business strategy. Interpret technical procedures, jurisdictional application of governmental regulations and work collaboratively with IWS EICOs, Supply Chain Management, Program Management, Contract Management and Business Development teams to deliver solutions to international programs and strategies. Make formal presentations in meetings, training environments and respond to questions from management, employees, customers and vendors. Negotiate export/import control issues with internal and external customers and resolve issues in a win/win manner. Assist on mentorship of EICO's within IWS. Skills / Requirements
Required Qualifications:
B.S. or B.A in International Business or related degree. Eight years of experience in the import/export controls arena for a global organization preferred, six years experience required. Strong project management, leadership and commitment to integrity and professionalism. Demonstrated knowledge on the EAR, ITAR, EASE and D-Trade license processing. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to relate and communicate with employees at all levels of the company. Some Domestic travel will be required. Knowledge of BATFE regulations required. IIEI or USCEO certification desired.
