JOB SUMMARY:
Assists behavioral health recipients with benefit’s applications. Obtains BHR’s financial information. Cooperates and collaborates with and advises staff, BHRs and families regarding benefit’s issues. Provides training to staff regarding benefits. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Accepts BHRs referrals for assistance. Ascertains BHR benefit needs. Interviews BHR to complete application. Assists BHRs with gathering all pertinent information for application processing and copying. Initiates, tracks and assists BHRs during and after the application process. Responsible for the monitoring of the completion of financial information forms and any benefit applications deemed appropriate for consumers. Obtains verification from outside agencies when necessary. Responsible for AHCCCS eligibility facilitation and ongoing monitoring. Inspects and screens financial information evaluations completed by others for accuracy and enters data into ClaimTrak system when needed. Train and assist case managers at designated sites in the completion of financial information form and collection of insurance benefits. Gathers insurance information. Analyzes benefit issues and recommends course of action. Trains and disseminates benefit information to staff and additional duties as assigned. Skills / Requirements

Education: HS/GED 1 Associates Degree 0 BA/BS 0 MA/MS/MBA 0 PHD 0 Field(s) of study: Experience: 0 yrs. 0 1-3yrs.1 3-5yrs. 0 5-8yrs. 0 > 8yrs.0 Industry: Job Specific: One (1) or more years experience working with mentally ill or developmentally disabled. *Equivalent combination of experience and education 0 *Education and/or experiences may run concurrent 0 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 1WPM 25 0KSPH Other: Social Security Disability programs, TITLE XIX, Programs for developmentally disabled, Welfare programs, Arizona Long Term Care system, Adult and Child/Adolescent programs Computer Skills: MHS, HMS Office Vision Licenses, Certifications, etc.: N/A PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Degree in a vocational program: Medical Assistant Experience: 6 months or more working in a medical office or hospital setting or customer service environment.
