Job: Telemetry Technician - Monitoring Unit

Phoenix Children's Hospital is the only specialty children's hospital in Arizona and it is poised to become one of the foremost pediatric hospitals in the nation. The hospital is home to the state's largest group of pediatric specialists and sub-specialists. In addition, the hospital continues to evolve its clinical practices and is working with leading local and national research partners to uncover new breakthroughs in pediatric medicine.

Currently a 299 bed facility, new construction plans were unveiled in October 2006 that include the building of two new patient bed towers and expansion in bed capacity and other key programs and services over the course of the next several years. Primary Purpose:


Responsible for the cardiac monitoring of patients on a telemetry unit while under the supervisor on an RN.

Work Environment:

Activities are primarily performed in an environmentally controlled hospital setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking; regular exposure to a variety of toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation. Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer equipment, fixed and portable diagnostic CR equipment and various imaging items; bending, lifting, reaching, stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds including positioning and re-positioning patients. Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, write, see and hear to perform essential duties

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
2. 2 years of secondary education preferred.
3. Successful completion of cardiac arrhythmia course.
4. 6 month experience in an acute healthcare environment.
