Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS), the largest provider of homeless shelter and services
to single adults in the Valley of the Sun, is looking for a Director of Fund Development for our location in the downtown Phoenix area. The mission of CASS is to empower men, women, and children with diverse needs to end their homelessness by providing shelter and supportive services. CASS offers a wide variety of services meeting the particular needs of the homeless community, including emergency shelter services; case management; employment services; dental services; and an accredited childcare program. CASS seeks to hire a full-time Director of Fund Development to create, lead and successfully execute diverse fund development plan to attain position and department revenue goals in fulfilling agency fiscal requirements. Position manages fund development team (Volunteer/Community Relations Coordinator, Marketing/Communications Manager and Grants Manager) and related activities such as: marketing, public relations, grants, donor management and community relations. Essential Functions: *Develop and lead successful fund development team to include: hiring, training, cross- training and staff development. *Develop individual goals with staff, provide ongoing feedback and one-on-one meetings, as well as conduct performance evaluations. *Cultivate and grow donors, volunteer base and community support by leading team in clearly articulating how the agency mission, programs and services empower those served to resolve their homelessness. *Engage team in development and networking opportunities on behalf of agency to improve solution and relationship selling skill set as well as build key contacts, networks and branding within the community. *Ensure successful management of incoming prospects as well as create a steady stream of new prospects and opportunities for team in attaining department revenue goals. *Execute strategic fund development plan and budget with key priorities, deadlines and goals. *Develop new revenue channels and relationships in the private sector to attain and cultivate donors, grants, key corporate and community partnerships, volunteers as well as support successful campaigns, events and drives to meet or exceed department annual quota of $900,000. *Lead successful annual event and campaigns to meet $100,000 revenue goal. *Cultivate current and grow new key private sector donors and corporate partnerships to attain $200,000 annual quota. *Oversee grants program with Grants Manager to retain and grow grant base of $500,000. *Oversee successful marketing plan and communications strategies, with Marketing and *Communications Manager, related to: website, collateral, PR, media, internal and external newsletters and communications, appreciation program, appeals videos, campaigns and events. *Oversee successful volunteer and donor program, and community relations to attain $100,000 in-kind quota for in-kind professional expertise and operational supplies attainment. *Professionally communicate agency mission and vision within the community by acting as liaison between community and agency in representing and communicating internal and external visions and agency mission. *Support CEO in managing public relations, media statements and proactive communications. *Manage forecasting, reporting and budgets for department. *Provide short and long-term forecasts and reports related to quota attainment and projections. *Present progress reports to Executive team and agency Board. *Partner with CEO and Board in reaching revenue goals for agency. *Work closely with CEO to support attainment of agency grants and other revenue sources in public sector as required. *Educate, direct and motivate agency Board of Directors in assisting team in successfully attaining department goals. Skills / Requirements
Required Qualifications: *Bachelor degree in business, non-profit management, marketing or closely related field. *Minimum of three years successful experience managing fund development department for *an agency with financials over five million dollars. *Minimum five years experience building diverse revenue channels in the private sector. *Experienced in leading marketing plans and activities to support revenue attainment. *Familiar with private and public sector grant processes. *Experienced in overseeing donors, volunteers and community relations. *Excellent presentation, interpersonal and business communication skills. *Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact database management. *Passionate advocate in gaining support for resolving homelessness. Preferred Qualifications: *Advanced degree in non-profit management, business, marketing or closely related field. *Public relations and media management experience. *Experience working with the homeless or impoverished.
