Overview: SUMMARY: This position is responsible for conducting innovative research in a designated area.Postdoctoral/Medical Research Fellow position is availalbe to participae in ongoing studies of age related brain disorders, particularly Alzheimer's disease. See our recent publications in Nature Medicine2003,9(1):3-4, Arch Gen Psychiatry, 2007,64(6):718-26, Scand J Clin Lab Invest. 2009, 69 (1):8-12, Exp Neurol. 2009, Oct. 5& nbsp; Responsibilities: Conduct innovative research, including the planning, design, and execution of experiments. Collect, organize and record data for manuscript preparation.Participate in grant and manuscript writing.Prepare timely reports on the research results in the form of peer-reviewed papers and scientific presentations.Participate in regular lab meetings.Perform on-call duties for brain donation program, as required.Provide support for the designated fellowship program related to recruitment, accreditation, scholarly activity, and financial management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or other related field. Previous research experience, training or coursework in relevant field such as molecular biology or biochemistry. Knowledge of laboratory techniques such as ELISA, western and northern blot, cell culture, DNA isolation, electrophoresis, radiologand binding, etc. Knowledge of research methods and data collection. Skill in communicating, analyzing and evaluating data. Must be able to maintain good rapport with other departmental personnel. PREFERRRED QUALIFICATIONS:Candidates with a strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry, including essay development, enzyme assays and genetics technology or pharmacology/drug discovery are preferred and background with medical or clinical experience will be a plus.
