Jobing Description
Southwest Kidney Institute (SKI), a full service kidney disease management organization with offices valley-wide has the need for an experienced Medical Assistant to work in our east valley practices with potential assignments to travel to other practices as needed through-out the Valley. The selected candidate will be assigned to work primarily in our Tempe office
(Warner and the 101) with assignments at our other east valley locations in Scottsdale, East Mesa, Sun Lakes as well as potential occassional work assignments to our central and/or west valley office(s).

As a SKI Medical Assistant, working under the management of the Practice Manager but assigned to assist one or more medical providers, you will perform a variety of tasks involving direct patient contact but may also include front office and/or back office assignments. Work will include, but is not limted to:

-- Preparing patients for examination and treatment
-- Performing selected patient care-specific and related administrative functions
-- Requesting information and record personal, physical and medical status changes
-- Drawing, obtaining and/or otherwise gathering fluids as required
-- Administering medications as ordered
-- Documenting prescribed medications, changes in dosage and other factors impacting the patient's medical health and condition
-- Updating and maintaining a variety of confidential patient medical records, charts and reports in hard-copy, paper and/or electronic medical records systems
-- Scheduling patient tests and procedures including obtaining authorizations, releases and related documentation
-- Preparing, compiling and providing documentation, reports, charts and records utilized by the assigned physician
-- Maintaining and updating inventory records regarding equipment and supply usage, need and ordering schedules
-- Under the physician's direction, responding to patient/family member inquiries regarding patient status
-- As assigned, may perform front office and/or back office duties and tasks
-- As required, traveling to assigned units through-out the SKI network of medical practices

Skills / Requirements
To be considered, you will have a high school diploma or equivalent AND at least one (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant. You must have at the time of application and must maintain Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Important Notes
Preference may be given to applicants who have recent Medical Assistant experience in a Nephrology or other medical-specialty practice and/or have worked with an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software.
