Job Summary:
Oversees all dining room operations at The Country Club of La Cholla. Areas of responsibility include scheduling of the server staff, training of the server staff, resident relations and special event staffing and server staff personnel functions. Essential Job Functions: Conducts all business in accordance with Company policies and procedures which include policies of equal employment opportunity, non-discrimination, fair-housing and non-harassment. Leadership: 1. Participates in duties normally associated with a supervisory position, such as hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplinary counseling of the service staff, under the direction of the Food Service Director and in coordination with the Executive Director and Human Resources Manager. 2. Conducts Dining Room server staff meetings regularly. 3. Maintains open and clear communication with the Food Service Director, department heads and the community staff. 4. Under the direction of the Food Service Director develops an integral food service team that effectively, professionally and in a caring manner performs the duties and functions of the Food Service Department. 5. Establishes and maintains an open, cordial and respectful relationship with the residents. 6. Represents the company in a professional manner and complies with dress code at all times. Administrative: 1. Directs the proper set-up and supervision of the server staff for all meal periods. 2. Directs the proper clean up and resetting of each dining room. 3. Directs the proper completion of all servers side-work. 4. Responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of all Food Service servers under the direction of the Food Service Director and in coordination with the Human Resources Manager. 5. Assists the Food Service Director in Human Resource and Payroll functions with regard to the Food Service department. 6. Responsible for the planning, implementation and management of smooth-running dining room facilities which includes management of dining room hours, resident entry into the dining rooms, resident seating and the service of food and beverages. 7. Ensures that all food service personnel are following safe work practices and are properly dressed according to uniform guidelines. 8. Is in full-charge of the department in the absence of the Food Service Director with the Kitchen Manager. Marketing: Assists the Food Service Director, Kitchen Manager, and Activities Manager in special event planning and implementation. Financial: Assists the Food Service Director in accounts payable functions regarding the department. Other Job Functions: Performs other duties as assigned. Skills / Requirements
Skills, Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An AA degree or related coursework is preferred. A minimum of three years of hospitality experience as a server, captain or maitre d’ hotel is required. A minimum of two years food service management in a restaurant, hotel, hospitality or senior environment is required. Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills. Basic computer skills are required. Valid driver’s license and good driving record along with proof of current auto insurance are required. Requirements: 1. Must be able to work in a fast-paced and customer-oriented environment. 2. Must perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner. 3. Must perform as part of a team, as well as complete assignments independently. 4. Must take instruction from supervisors. 5. Must exercise problem-solving skills. 6. Must interact with co-workers, supervisors, guests, vendors, residents, and the public in a pleasant and professional manner.
