Overview: Banner Estrella Medical Center opened in 2005 in west Phoenix with a full-service, acute care hospital and a five-story medical office building on a 50-acre medical campus. Banner Estrella also offers state-of-the art technology such as iCare, a telemedicine program that provides an extra layer of monitoring for patients in intensive-care units. It also offers an intelligent OB program that helps reduces the chances of complications during labor and delivery.Banner Estrella employs about 1,400 health care professionals and support staff, and a medical staff of more than 600 physicians who serve the rapidly-growing West Valley communities of Avondale, Buckeye, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Peoria, Surprise, Tolleson and West Phoenix. Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the financial stewardship of the organization by establishing a culture of financial awareness and accountability and by ensuring the efficient utilization of resources and appropriate decision making for strategic growth and technological investment in order to maximize operating margin and return on investments. Provides leadership, subject matter expertise and strategic and operational direction in the achievement of broad based organizational initiatives including operational effectiveness, market growth, regulatory compliance and physician and employee satisfaction. Functions as a key member of facility executive leadership and plays an integral role in advancing the strategic initiatives of the facility including an in-depth understanding of financial objectives, operations, and the market. Establishes an environment that supports sound decision making utilizing the facility/system initiatives that enhance operational performance, clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and employee engagement.

This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field. An in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, cost accounting and reimbursement methodologies is required. A minimum of 5 years experience in managing financial operations in an entity is required along with 3 years experience in an acute care setting. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years experience in hospital operations and project management with large, complex projects is required. Within 12 months of hire, this position will be required to be an ACHE designee. Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical skills and demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with staff, administrative team members, executives, Board members and external contacts are essential
