POSITION SUMMARY:Â
As a part-time Staff Attorney’s Assistant, you will provide clerical and administrative support to the staff attorneys, who in turn assist the Supreme Court Justices in deciding whether to exercise discretionary review of cases brought before the Court. This position will be responsible for managing case flow, including preparation of documents and processing of documents filed in hard copy or electronically, using an electronic case management system. Other duties include: maintaining the Court’s public website pertaining to rule change proposals and amendments to rules, ensuring Court actions are timely posted and rule change petitions and comments are processed and posted as required; maintaining the Court law library, including monitoring subscriptions and updating publications as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills. Ability to interact with co-workers and others in person and by telephone. Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to sensitive information and cases before the Court. Ability to self-start and to work independently, with minimal supervision. Ability to lift books and copy machine paper boxes. Knowledge of or ability to learn computer software, including PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word, Expressions Web, and in-house electronic case management system. Ability to operate various business machines, including scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
