Jobing Description
Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Compliance Manager, ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Tribal Gaming Regulations as well as compliance with the Casino Internal Controls, Policies and Procedures. Ensures the follow up and corrective action for violations of any of the above.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitors and evaluates Casino activities, customers, employees, transactions, vendors and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Tribal gaming laws and regulations.
• Works closely with the Tohono O’odham Gaming Office to respond to all commission reports requiring follow up and corrective action.
• Audits the development, evaluation, implementation and maintenance of departmental internal controls and policy and procedures for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Performs bi-annual review of all departments.
• Provides comprehensive oral and written reports with recommendations regarding the non-compliance with any of the provisions of federal, state, or tribal laws, regulations, or ordinances.
• Monitors and evaluates gaming operations for regulatory compliance on a daily basis, maintaining daily logs and preparing appropriate reports.
• Audits, reconciles and submits reporting requirements to: Title 31, IRS, NIGC, State and Commission reports and assessments.
• Monitors shipping, receiving, installation, relocation, removal, storage of gaming devices for security and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensures Gaming Enterprise management, staff, and vendors are in adherence with policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Protects the gaming facilities and operations from illegal activities and ensures the highest degree of integrity is upheld by identifying and ensuring that all individuals engaged in criminal activity are removed from casino grounds.
• Sets up filing and tracking systems for all reports and corrective action documentation for any violations.
• Provides training, guidance, and communication as needed to Casino personnel regarding regulatory and Internal Control requirements.
• Verifies the gaming operation cage/vault inventory and currency counter tests.
• Ensures the security, health and physical safety of employees and guests by conducting safety audits, correcting and/or reporting finding of all identified potential hazards.
• Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
• Performs other duties as required.

Skills / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or related field plus three years experience in a casino gaming or regulatory compliance monitoring environment or law enforcement setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 18 years of age. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:

• Knowledge of federal, state, and Indian gaming regulations.
• Knowledge of records management and basic accounting procedures.
• Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of Title 31 program.
• Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English.
• Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instruction.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complicated documents, such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to demonstrate excellence in everything, and continually seek improvement in results.
• Skill in operating gaming machines, business computers and office machines in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint).


Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in an office and Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level Evening, graveyard, holiday and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
