Job: Retail Food Service Supervisor-Spanish/English Preferred - ASU Tempe

Primary responsibility of the Food Service Supervisor is to provide direction and supervision for the planning, marketing and customer service provided with the goal to exceed the customers’ expectations. The position will follow all ARAMARK standards, HACCP guidelines, sanitation and safety standards and regulatory agency requirements.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for enforcing cash handling policies and procedures according to ARAMARK standards.
• Provides and documents on-the- job training.
• Assists Food Service Director with maintaining labor and food cost at or below budget following ARAMARK standards ensuring ARAMARK policies and procedures.
• Works effectively with management/supervisor peers to achieve Food Service Department goals and objectives.
• Participates in selection, orientation, training, constructive counseling, evaluation and competency assessment of department personnel.
• Enforces ARAMARK policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner with all employees.
• Prepares and monitors work schedules with guidance from Food Service Director.
• Monitors associate productivity; develops and implements programs for increased productivity and improved service for front of the house with guidance from Food Service Director.
• Supervises day-to-day activities of employees to meet financial objectives of the department and to exceed customer service expectations.
• Completes quality control activities to insure appropriate food and equipment temperatures, and quality of food service.
• Ensures proper maintenance of temperature log for front of the house to comply with ARAMARK standards and regulatory agencies.
• Ensures proper posting of current menus following ARAMARK standards.
• Implements and maintains operational processes to be consistently at or above satisfactory levels for ARAMARK
• Maintains Fast Tracks with assistance from Food Service Director.
• Implements and monitors sanitation schedules equipment maintenance and employee safety programs in department.
• Available in service area during service hours following ARAMARK standard of 90/10.
• Ensures proper food handling and presentation of food on service line following ARAMARK standards and regulatory agencies.
• Ensures all beverages and food are ready for service during meal periods following ARAMARK standards and contract guidelines.
• Maintains customer service standards for front of the house.
• Demonstrates flexibility in schedule in order to meet the needs of the department.
• Exhibits behaviors and actions, which create a high level of customer satisfaction and reflects respect for customers’ rights, age, needs and confidentiality.
• Works effectively with minimum supervision. Responds positively when asked to perform other tasks by supervisor/management.

Environment:

* This is a 7 day operation and will require weekend work
* Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time

Skills:

Fluent in Spanish and English Strongly Preferred
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, to meet established goals and objectives.
• Strong planning, organizing, managing, problem solving, time management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with various customer personalities and situations.


Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma graduate or GED

Experience: Minimum 1-2 years experience supervising in a high-paced restaurant/fast food environment.
Previous experience in supervisory capacity in a National Brand environment (Quiznos, Einstein’s, Chick-A-Fill, etc.) highly preferred.
