RN/Nuclear Tech - Radiology
Date: Oct 23, 2009 Location: Phoenix, AZ, US Job Posting: 6828 This Nuclear Medicine Technologist/RN is competent to prepare and administer radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Responsibilities include operation of the nuclear imaging equipment to produce quality diagnostic images of any part of the body for review and interpretation by a radiologist/cardiologist and maintenance of mandatory records established by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency (ARRA). Is responsible for participating in the delivery of inpatient nursing care, patient/family education and discharge planning. Will also integrate knowledge of advanced pathophysiology, human responses to health problems and non-disease based etiologies to asses, plan and coordinate care, monitor and evaluate patient outcomes. Department: Radiology Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited program for nuclear medicine. BS in nuclear medicine technology preferred. One year nuclear radiology experience (including education) required. Knowledge and technical competence with nuclear equipment and procedures required. Training in radiation safety, operation of equipment, preparation, handling, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals required. Current Arizona registered nurse licensure required. BSN preferred. Minimum 1 year Registered Nurse experience required. Registered by NMTCB required or ARRT (N) & AZ MRTBE in Nuclear Medicine Technology. BLS required upon hire. Background and expertise in a general neurology environment including the care of epileptic patients, EEG monitoring and seizure recognition is required.
