Sr. Environmental Biologist – Environmental Planning firm is seeking a biologist with experience in the southwest to manage wildlife and plant biology projects. This will include coordinating with clients and consultants, as well as other disciplines in the firm. In addition, you will write proposals and reports, develop the scopes and budgets of the projects, make presentations to clients and the public , and mentor junior biologists. Will be called upon to stand in for the director of the department, as needed.

Required background:
• BS degree in Biology, or a closely related discipline • 10 years of experience in the southwest in wildlife biology • 5+ years experience in a project management and leadership position • Strong writing skills to prepare Biological Assessments, Biological Evaluations, and related NEPA documents • NEPA, ESA and CWA experience – overall “big picture” of environmental planning • Broad base of experience in wildlife and plants, preferably in Arizona • Strong leadership abilities to manage the department in the director’s absence • Experience working with threatened, endangered and sensitive species • Knowledge of BLM practices, federal agency policies and regulations desired • Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, team player needed • Will consider out of state candidates who are looking to relocate to Arizona, but must have experience in a southwestern state in biology Important Notes
