Overview: The position is at the Banner Baywood Medical Center located in East Mesa on Power Rd & Broadway. The CSPD Coordinator coordinates the operational activities of the Central Sterile Processing Department and assists the Manager in developing, implementing, and managing an efficient, cost-effective system for the procurement, receiving, processing and distribution of surgical instruments to all hospital areas. This is a full time position working M-F from 7am-330pm. Responsibilities: Departmental responsibility. Incumbent assists the Operating Room and other areas in the procurement of medical supplies, instruments, and sterile processing issues. Internal customers are other BHA staff, physicians, patients, visitors, managers, and executives. External customers are vendors, patients, visitors, other BHA facilities, and non-BHA medical facilities

High School Diploma/GED required; Requires proficiency level typically acquired with three to five years of CSPD sterile processing experience including knowledge of surgical instrumentation, patient related supplies, materials and equipment, aseptic and sterilization techniques. Must have mechanical aptitude with the ability to break down moving parts, clean, lubricate and reassemble. Must be able to problem solve incomplete trays and missing instrumentation. Must possess effective organizational, communication and human relation skills as the incumbent will be coordinating several projects simultaneously and working closely with all levels of staff; Previous leadership experience and computer skills are preferred; must complete CS training program; Requires national certification as a SPD Technician or Surgical Instrument Processor within conditional period or 6 months after assuming position.
