ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:

The Shared Support Services organization at Schwab is comprised of centralized teams that support Schwab business goals through the delivery of technology, operations, projects, business continuity and offshore management. The focus is on maximizing operating leverage by integrating functions, increasing productivity and gaining efficiencies in order to better position Schwab to compete in the marketplace and to reinvest in areas that matter most to our clients.

SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Manager in Cash Control Operations within Shared Support Services at Charles Schwab, you will manage middle office and street-side operations functions that are critical parts of the engine that makes Schwab's business run. We are a multi-facet team that provides client servicing, as well as processing time sensitive high risk client transactions. We are in constant contact with our internal and external clients. Never content with the status quo, we're continually looking for ways to leverage technology in an effort to improve systems and services to help exceed our clients' and business partners' needs. It is our ability to continually streamline how we work and provide the high service levels that makes Operations a key competitive advantage for the firm.

Key responsibilities may include:

· Create a work environment that promotes employee engagement by setting clear expectations and consistently providing information, resources, feedback, coaching and recognition that helps employees improve their performance.

· Build and foster both vendor and inter-departmental relationships.

· Continually look for ways to leverage technology to improve systems and services.

· Ensure that the team complies with company/department policies & procedures and meets established department service levels.

· Participate in cashiering projects and deliver business results.

Note: Based upon skills and prior experience, the new hire may be
selected for either Manager or Senior Manager level.

Skills / Requirements
Required minimum qualifications include:
  • 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • 5 years of experience in management, including managing teams and projects, along with background in employee development and career coaching.
  • Knowledge of General Ledger and Cash reconciliation
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Knowledge of banking functions, such as wires, ACH, check disbursements and deposits
  • Experience in customer service, negotiation, planning, and organizational skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft products and comfortable with the use of mainframe systems

    We are also seeking a candidate who: Is a creative thinker who possesses strong verbal and written communication skills; Possesses strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

    In addition, ideal candidates will also have the following desired qualifications:

  • More than 5 years experience in financial services and in management
  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or general business (or related)
  • Extensive knowledge of cashiering operations and related regulatory requirements is preferred
