Jobing Description
The Wildflower Bread Company (www.wildflowerbread.com), established in 1996, is an expanding Fast Casual Restaurant serving award winning food you knead for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Featuring hand-crafted artisan breads and specialty bakery, the Wildflower is also well-known for its unique sandwiches, salads, soups, pancakes and pastas. Fresh food, friendly service and amenities like wireless Internet access make Wildflower a favorite place for gathering with family, friends and coworkers. Breakfast is served weekdays until 10:30 AM; weekends until 2:00 PM. Pasta is served daily from 3 PM.

We are seeking experienced Assistant Managers for our locations in the Greater Phoenix area.

SUMMARY: Under general supervision manage daily store restaurant operations with an emphasis on sales, service, quality, cost management and employee management. Tasks include, but are not limited to, managing a team of 25-30 non-exempt breadheads in a fast-paced environment, staffing, training, scheduling, guest services, inventory, budgeting, compliance and financial performance. Managers are responsible for the following:

1. Ensures compliance with company standards such as cost control, waste reduction, quality food and service, health and safety, security, cleanliness and on-time delivery.
2. Manage compliance with state and federal regulations. Conducts Health Regulatory inspections daily.
3. Manages staffing process for non-exempt store positions (recruiting, interviewing, hiring, administering new hire paperwork and training.)
4. Prepares daily transaction records; submits daily commissary orders.
5. Prepares requisitions to replenish inventory (2 days per week).
6. Prepares weekly work schedules to include breaks and time off requests; sends timesheets to Payroll by the following Tuesday.
7. Reviews analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine store progress toward stated goals and objectives. Prepares and submits projection report to District Manager every Friday.
8. Prepares monthly profit and loss reports.
9. Assists with customer inquiries and complaints. Interacts with customers to promote a positive WBC experience.
10. Assists in store operations, as needed, such as cashiering, catering, food prep, deliver food, bus tables.
11. Contacts service-company for equipment repair/maintenance as needed.
12. Regularly communicates with store employees in person and through log book, facilitates weekly training, educates employees in new product knowledge, services and programs, etc.
13. Coordinates sales promotions activities and prepares or directs workers to support activities.
14.. Effectively coach and mentor employees; proactively support employee involvement and development; counsel employees on performance standards; conduct timely performance reviews and consults with District Manager regarding pay administration.
15. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, with continual emphasis on promoting employee health and safety. Assists in training colleagues in proper safety techniques.
16. Other duties as assigned.



Skills / Requirements
-High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; continuing education degree or certificate in Restaurant Management, Food Service Administration, or related field a plus.
-Minimum three years experience involving supervisory/leadership skills required in the restaurant industry.
-Current Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record.
-Food handler’s card or achieve one within 5 days of employment.
-Position will be required to work a varied schedule that will include mornings, evenings, nights, week-ends and holidays. Reliable and predictable attendance is required. Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours.
-Present a positive, professional image; solid leadership skills required.
-Ability to make good decisions and enforce company policies in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures. Must be able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
-Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented.
-Must have superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
-Must demonstrate appropriate analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.
-Creates realistic plans that support organizational goals. Effectively allocates resources and time. Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure and deal with stressful situations.
-Participative management style; use a "hands-on" approach. Build morale and spirit; experience motivating team members to work together to achieve goals.
-Capable of facilitating discussion between individuals with differing perspectives.
-Experience confronting performance issues as well as giving rewards and recognition. Experience managing a team through delegation and feedback.
-Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and front end cashiering programs. Familiarity with the internet is a plus.
-Ability to work with a computer and keyboard, facsimile machines and photocopier. Other equipment may include a cash register, food/bread slicer, oven and dishwasher.
-Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
• Fast-paced, fast-casual restaurant.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, see, read and hear. The employee frequently is required to bend and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally to sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to move materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
