Jobing Description
Troubleshoot, diagnose and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on FDA-grade production and support equipment in a low-volume manufacturing environment.
Perform duties of a mechanic, repair production equipment.
Troubleshoot motor control drives, motors, and/or other electronic components.
Prioritize and manage maintenance work orders and projects.
Complete site improvement projects to provide for safety and increased productivity. Assist with corporate projects.
Serve as site equipment “expert” to operate or repair equipment.
Install and maintain motors, controls, electrical components (contacts, relays, etc.), circuit breakers, and control panels.
Handyman skills; soldering, conduit-bending, wall patchwork, plumbing, etc.
Develop and drive site maintenance PM program, develop spare parts inventory needed to support manufacturing.
Follow and interpret equipment manuals, blue prints, schematics.
Manage site boiler PM’s, schedule.
Own/update and map site electrical layout and systems.
Perform duties in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
Willingness to work rotating shifts.
Scheduling and documentation of equipment PM’s, calibration, site pest control, etc.
Manage site list, MSDS of all chemicals used.
Weekly scale weight verification.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Skills / Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years experience in a manufacturing environment. Degree or certificate from a technical college or university is preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Ability to use hand and power tools, electrical test instrumentation.
Demonstrate ability to understand control wiring and logic diagrams.
Must exhibit familiarity with NEC, NFPA codes, and PLC.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee must exert up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
May be required to wear a respirator due to dusty environment and exposed to considerable noise from machinery.
