Jobing Description
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on FDA-grade production and support equipment in a low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Perform duties of a mechanic, repair production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot motor control drives, motors, and/or other electronic components.
  • Prioritize and manage maintenance work orders and projects.
  • Complete site improvement projects to provide for safety and increased productivity. Assist with corporate projects.
  • Serve as site equipment “expert” to operate or repair equipment.
  • Install and maintain motors, controls, electrical components (contacts, relays, etc.), circuit breakers, and control panels.
  • Handyman skills; soldering, conduit-bending, wall patchwork, plumbing, etc.
  • Develop and drive site maintenance PM program, develop spare parts inventory needed to support manufacturing.
  • Follow and interpret equipment manuals, blue prints, schematics.
  • Manage site boiler PM’s, schedule.
  • Own/update and map site electrical layout and systems.
  • Perform duties in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

    Additional Responsibilities:
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts.
  • Scheduling and documentation of equipment PM’s, calibration, site pest control, etc.
  • Manage site list, MSDS of all chemicals used.
  • Weekly scale weight verification.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

  • Skills / Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years experience in a manufacturing environment. Degree or certificate from a technical college or university is preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, electrical test instrumentation.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand control wiring and logic diagrams.
  • Must exhibit familiarity with NEC, NFPA codes, and PLC.

    Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must exert up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
  • May be required to wear a respirator due to dusty environment and exposed to considerable noise from machinery.
