Job: Contract Grant Writer

The Grant Writer contract is for 15-20 hours per week to complete the following activities:

Grant Program Management
o Developing initial timelines for grant deliverables for listed funders
o Organization of existing grants and programs into easy to access catalogs
o Recommend grant templates for programs where none exist
o Develop grant templates by program
Grant Researching
o Compile list of potential foundations and other funding sources based on programs offered at ICAN
o Conducts regular scans of a broad list of funding sources to identify funding to grant opportunities
o Assess potential for funding of key projects and make recommendations to CEO and DRD
o Produce monthly summary report of research and scan findings to CEO and DRD
o Confer with DRD on development of grant proposals when areas are identified to determine scope of work, feasibility of funding project, timeline for development, and proposal development fee.
Grant Proposal Development
o Research proposal development requirements
o Write proposals for those funders on list provided by DRD and designated for Grant Writer preparation
o Develop proposals according to guidelines of funder and recommended budget for proposal
o Provide guidance on completion of budget and other forms, as needed including a cover member with specific finalization directions for submission
o Provide proposals at least 10 business days prior to submission to DRD to review
o Complete recommended edits or changes within 3 business days prior to submission for CEO and DRD final review
Grant Reporting
o Request needed information from DRD when needed
o Prepare written reports as scheduled
o Provide reports at least 10 days prior to submission date for DRD review
o Complete recommended edits or changes at least 3 days prior to submission for CEO and DRD final review
Financial Compliance
o Provide monthly expenditure reports and invoice to ICAN within 10 working day of the last day of the month for which the services were rendered.

Previous grant writing experience is required
