Department: Interpret/Translation Svc
Schedule: Part Time
Shift: Days
Hours: 8:00 a.m.- 6:30 p.m varies

Performs effective and accurate written translations for all departments of Scottsdale Healthcare. Develops written materials, for Scottsdale Healthcare's non-English speaking customers, staff, physicians and the community. Becomes an identifiable liaison between Scottsdale Healthcare departments and the community. Incumbent must maintain patient/employee confidentiality at all times. Discusses specifics of any written translation service interaction between patient and caregiver with authorized personnel only. Respects rights and dignity of each individual. Handles all situations in a professional, compassionate manner. Utilizes multi-lingual knowledge of Spanish language and medical terminology to effectively communicate verbally with patients, patient family members and Scottsdale Healthcare staff. Assesses understanding of those individuals receiving interpretation of medical information. Performs multiple tasks simultaneously. Must pass Spanish/English oral and written language proficiency evaluation

Basic Education: Bachelors' degree in Spanish and/or English language or 8 years related experience. Thorough knowledge of culture and customs of Hispanic Community.&Bilingual Assistance (SBA) certification. Completion of Spanish Medical Terminology Course.

Basic Experience: 2 years experience in translating medical, legal and public relations documents from English to Spanish and Spanish to English. Public Relations writing skills.
