Jobing Description
Summary:
Participates in the psychiatric evaluation and ongoing treatment of members including psychiatric evaluations, medication supervision, health education, assessment; assists in nursing supervision and participates in the planning, development and implementation of services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conducts psychiatric evaluations of members, prescribes and monitors medications as appropriate.
2. Works in a collaborative manner with the Medical Director.
3. Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings on the history, diagnostic tests; initiates referral and consultation when appropriate.
4. Regulates and adjusts medications and treatments.
5. Provides consultation and education to members, families, staff and community on medication actions, side effects, and proper health and nutrition habits.
6. Maintains member charts and records according to established guidelines and procedures.
7. Coordinates acquisition of lab tests & primary care providers, screens laboratory results, and facilitates follow-up medical treatment.
8. Assists in member outreach and advocacy activities.
9. Attends and participates in adult recovery and clinical team meetings.
10. Develops and maintains liaison relationships with other community medical agencies.
11. Assists in supervision of other nursing staff.
12. Works cooperatively with adult recovery team to maximize recovery of members.
13. Participates in the planning, development, and implementation of new services to under served populations.
14. Makes referrals to appropriate primary health care physician for management of acute and long-term health problems.
15. Performs other related activities in accordance with agency growth and changes.

Skills / Requirements
Position Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
Two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician’s Assistant or Physician in behavioral health related practice.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
1. Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner by the State Board of Nursing, currently licensed to practice nursing in the State of Arizona, OR, .
2. Licensed as a Physicians Assistant by the State Medical Board, currently licensed to practice as a Physicians Assistant in the State of Arizona, OR,
3. Licensed as a Physician (MD or DO) by the State Medical Board, currently licensed to practice as a Physician.
