Jobing Description
Central Life Sciences, formerly Farnam Companies, is looking for an Inside Telesales Representative to sell our Animal Health products to dealers, veterinarians and/or individuals over the phone. Internal Sales Representatives take several steps to acquire new clients, retain current clients, and help support our Outside Sales Representatives. A few of the primary duties are:

  • Sells assigned products and/or promotions to assigned customers in a territory over the phone.
  • Makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.
  • Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
  • Overcomes technical and business objections of existing and prospective customers.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sale leads, based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, dealer resellers, business directories, internet web sites, and other sources.
  • Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedule.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into CRM/SAP databases.
  • Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up-to-date.
  • Assists in market research projects and/or other special projects as assigned.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • May occasionally travel to attend trade shows.
  • Handles all customer issues pertaining to dealers, veterinarians, veterinarian distributors and consumers.

  • Skills / Requirements
  • Associates degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school. A degree in Animal Science or similar field a plus.
  • Must have at least two years previous telephone sales experience, commissioned sales a plus.
  • Technical knowledge of animals and animal related products, a plus.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM or similar software.
  • Always act in a professional manner.
  • Place a high emphasis on good customer care.
