For more information visit www.gcu.edu. Summary: Installs and repairs air conditioning systems by performing the following duties. Grand Canyon University is currently seeking an HVAC Technican - A/C Technician. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. • Inspects and measures building to determine airflow requirements. • Plans and draws layout and dimensions of ductwork. • Obtains price quotations on materials and purchases materials such as sheet metal, compressors, and fans, from suppliers and tests equipment to verify that equipment is functioning. • Schedules air conditioning installation assignments. • Examines installed air conditioning systems to verify that system is functioning. • Attends classes and seminars on air conditioning components and system design to update skills. • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. • Maintains time and production records. • Other duties as assigned. The HVAC Technician will possess the following knowledge: 3-5 years of experience, ability to perform HVAC equipment repairs, installations, and maintenance; the ability to inspect major systems and identify operating problems; perform complex troubleshooting and repairs; manage HEPA filter maintenance and required documentation Universal and R-410a certification required; maintain site records for refrigerant recovery; the ability to input time into computer maintenance management systems and navigate to all fields that are applicable; able to train other HVAC technicians in all facets of HVAC maintenance; willingly perform other duties as directed by the section’s supervisor.
