Our mission is to help people on welfare obtain employment so they can become self-sufficient. Our organization is responsible for administering the JOBS contract through the Department of Economic Security (DES). We have an entry level full-time position available doing case management in Globe, Arizona.

Arbor Education and Training provides many services to TANF, General Assistance, and welfare diversion clients including intensive assessment, case management, work readiness and life management skills, motivation enhancement, subsidized work experience, occupational skills training, job search assistance, job placement and retention. Our primary emphasis is always on work: obtaining, retaining, and advancing in a job with a good future. Arbor has participated in experimental welfare/social service pilot programs for individual states and local communities and we currently provide specialized services to the physically disabled and those with behavioral health challenges.

About our position...
The Employment Specialist manages a caseload of DES clients, providing services with a focus on helping clients obtain employment. Duties may include a combination of the following: intake, interviewing, eligibility verification, referrals to supportive services, employer services, job coaching, job search, and orientation/classroom instruction. Facilitates client access to training, education, and employment services, as well as job-specific information. Ensures that referrals are processed and initial assessments are conducted in a timely manner. Ensures that case documentation meets regulatory guidelines. May be assigned as a specialized engagement specialist for specific duties if qualified and if required by client needs.

• Related Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent work experience
•Related work experience
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Demonstrated customer service skills
•Demonstrated computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software programs
•Familiarity with the communities and groups being served with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources
•Experienced with providing culturally competent services
•Bilingual skills desired
•Must have reliable transportation
•Must pass required pre-employment drug test
•Must pass required background checks including qualifications for Arizona fingerprint clearance card
